Mozilla Firefox 8.0 final version has been released November 8, 2011,get it now!Mozilla Firefox 8.0 has the following changes:
- Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default
- Added a one-time add-on selection dialog to manage previously installed add-ons
- Added Twitter to the search bar for select locales. Additional locale support will be added in the future
- Added a preference to load tabs on demand, improving start-up time when windows are restored
- Improved performance and memory handling when using <audio> and <video> elements
- Added CORS support for cross-domain textures in WebGL
- Added support for HTML5 context menus
- Added support for insertAdjacentHTML
- Improved CSS hyphen support for many languages
- Improved WebSocket support
- Fixed several stability issues
- Fixed several security issues

I had mozilla firefox verion 10.1 and it keeps crashing and messing up my computer. I couldnt even do my regular windows update. I had to uninstall firefox and then the windows upgrade worked. Now Im going to try this version 8 and see how it goes. will give you guys an update…
You’d better disable auto update after installing your firefox 8.
I have had terrible times with mozilar firefox 9, made many complaints to my internet provider, to know solution. Now i am downloading v 8 and according to the above comments, 9 is very worse. Internet slow, download takes forever. I think we should stick with v 8.

Seems you have some compatibility issues with the software. Please go to control panel and remove Mozilla Firefox 9.
I work from home. Ever since I upgraded to v9, my F5 plugin no longer works.
Which simply will not allow me to work remotely. Thus, I my pay check is quickly dissolving.
Any suggestions?

Im a big fan and user of the firefox browser that was till version 9.0 was released its performance leaves me thinking that Mozilla is rushing out new versions to please the massess with too few improvements than in the past when the time between releases was longer and really anticipated version improvements provided.Now your version 9.0 has problem(s) the main one Ive experienced is Firefox 9.0 does not open files becaucse it has no association(s) eg. I attempt to dpwnload music files from “goldesel”" to emule 1.2e and I get the message that firefox”"” does not know how to open this address because the protocol (ed2k) is not asociated with any programme !!! “”.Ive been using Firefox for what nearly 12 years now ,Im 62 know f–al about computers BUT I do stick with VERY GOOD and proven software so I guess I should BE MORE SUPPORTIVE Sorry.Theres no doubt a Easy solution that Ive missed.Anyway Ive never had this problem in all the years Ive been downloading from Goldesel through mozilla firefox to emule so I decided to send a long winded message please tell me that Istuffed up..Yours Bruce….
Firefox 9 made my Win XP @ home 32-bit system slow as molasses. Seemed to cause other tasks, like an unrelated compile process take twice as long as usual. Everything on my system seemed to slow down. Reverted to version 8 and now everything is good again.
Does anyone know if the link to the download is down? i am unable to download ff 7 and i need it badly ff 9 sucks automatically blocks add on that i need. thanks

IT IS ADMIRABLE AND LOVELY.
In upgrading from Firefox 8 to version 9 I am disappointed to see that the overall speed is a lot slower. It now is a game of waiting for pages to load when with version 8; they were nice and fast. I am going to dump version 9 and revert back to 8 and just stick with that for the time being. Unfortunately, it seems like Mozilla is more interested in racking up version numbers as fast as possible then it is to put out a quality revision

My subjective experience is that Chrome 15 is faster than Firefox 9. There are many articles and benchmarks on the topic but I’m not sure if there is a definitive answer when measurements are borken down for different operations and functions, not to mention version differences.

Mozilla Firefox is one of the most refined browser of the lot. Its actually a little better than Google Chrome in some aspects and superior to I.E9. I like it because of the its stellar performance in low signal networks such as 2G, 2.5G, EDGE. And the avaliability of customisations and pluging is a huge plus for developers and noobs alike. And regarding bugs, i havent encountered any in the final releases. The only thing that needs to be improved is its download manager. Sure there are better 3rd party DM’s avaliable, but for people not using DM’s it will be a huge plus.
I have been on Firefox 8 for about a month but memory consumption is my primary problem with stuttering video being a secondary problem. I surmise there are memory leaks at play. Testing on Chrome 15, the same videos do not stutter. So, I took an update to Firefox 9 to see if any better.
Having upgraded to Firefox 9, I am finding it better. I no longer get the memory consumption problem and videos do seem to be a little smoother although there are other factors at play such as network load.
