Firefox 9 final version has been released on December 20, 2011.
The latest version of Firefox 9.0 has the following changes:
- Added Type Inference, significantly improving JavaScript performance
- Improved theme integration for Mac OS X Lion
- Added two finger swipe navigation for Mac OS X Lion
- Added support for querying Do Not Track status via JavaScript
- Added support for font-stretch
- Improved support for text-overflow
- Improved standards support for HTML5, MathML, and CSS
- Fixed several stability issues

97% of all the comments on this page are flse and come from FireFox management to beef the quality rating of the product.
1) I have progressed from FF 02 through 9.
each mod/ upgrade has had some improvements until approx 5. Since FF5 F/F has become MEMORY hoggish – inturn slowing down the computer inturn slowing down the browser _ IN REALITY! IT IS NOT FASTER ! ! !
2) F/F7 was GOOD – F/F8 made good corrections to the many problems that F/F7 had.
3) DO NOT INSTALL F/F9 – WARNING ! ! !
(a) It elimitate the brower bars and management bars so you can not change the appearence if you make a mistake if you use the new unknown buttons.
(a) 90% of my add-ons failed. even thru Mazilla said they were compatible. I checked that first before updating.
(b) the option of reinsalling old toolbars is gone.
(d) It adds a stupid Yahoo toolbar/ search window you can not get rid of in option to your own. HEY STUPIDS – WHY WOULD I WANT TWO FIXED SEARCH WINDOWS ON THE SAME BROWSER. ESPECIALLY A DEDICATED ONE ? ? ? ? ?
4) The ability to back out of the update to return to a former or earilier version such as F/F7 or 8 is gone.
Mozilla 9 IS THE WORST DESKTOP UPDATE YET – IT WAS DON TO CONNECT TO THE CELL PHONE MARKET AND DISTOYES THE THE COMPUTER RELIABILITY.

Actually, I’m running this in a “portable” setting, and so far, so good. No issues whatsoever, and my add-ons work perfectly, despite most of them not being technically compatible with this version. I notice somewhat of an increase in speed with each upcoming version, and this one is no exception. So far, Firefox 9 is very quick and for me, it’s very stable. It can only get better from here.

i’ve downloaded this version and im using windows xp as my os. seems like its on a winzip file. i dont know what should be my next step. i have never tried using winzip. where do i go?
Please use WinRAR or 7-Zip to uncompress the zip file,they are easy to use.Or you can download the latest stable version Firefox 7.0.1,it’s an executable file.

Firefox 9.0 is great,so much better than IE!
But some plugins not work on this version,so I change back to the stable version Firefox 7.0.
Firefox 9.0 Aurora version is for test purpose only.Firefox 7.0 is highly recommended.
the software is bad it does not gets installed it is a bad software comes in compressed files and a prompt comes showing that the
compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted .why to publish this type of software when it can`t get installed

If the problem remains after you install the latest Adobe Flash Player,please downgrade your current version of Firefox to the stable version Firefox 7.0. Firefox 9.0 Aurora is still in testing.
